Deuce Days Weekend on Film.
July 17-20 Victoria, BC
Deuce Days in Victoria only comes around every three years, and this year the city was buzzing. It all kicked off Thursday afternoon when the first wave of deuces and hot rods rolled off the Coho ferry from Port Angeles. Engines echoing through the Inner Harbour, people lining the streets, and that classic tradition—every lady driving in gets greeted with a flower. Such a cool, classy touch, and it just sets the whole vibe.
Friday night was like something out of American Graffiti. Cars cruising up and down the streets, lights glowing, engines rumbling, people hanging out on the sidewalks just soaking it all in. The whole city felt like one big car movie. The Days Inn is the heartbeat of it all. The parking lot is where stories get swapped, cars get polished (again), and everybody just hangs out like old friends. Even if you don’t know a single thing about carburetors, you’ll still find yourself pointing out fins and flames like you do.
Saturday morning kicked off the poker run, taking everyone out on the island roads. Stop to stop, laughing, swapping cards, showing off the rides—it’s not even about the poker hand, it’s about the cruise, the people you meet, and just being out there rolling. Then that night, Lee Grant (and Shannon) threw his legendary party, and honestly, it’s one of the best parts of Deuce Days. Lee puts so much heart into it—everyone comes together, the energy is electric, and it just feels like family.
Sunday was the big show downtown. Cars packed into every street, people shoulder to shoulder, cameras clicking, chrome and steel everywhere you look. Standing in the middle of it all, hearing the engines, seeing those rides lined up against Victoria’s waterfront—it’s a moment that hits you every time.
Deuce Days isn’t just a car show—it’s a reunion, a tradition, and one of those weekends that leaves you already counting down three more years until the next one.
