Reliability Run on Film
September 27, 2025.
Pre-1964 hot rods, cool cars, and classic trucks—this year’s Reliability Run was all about the fun of not knowing where we were going. The weather was supposed to be rainy, but somehow we lucked out.
We met in Mill Bay at the Thrifty’s parking lot, where Lee and Shannon gave us the rundown on the route, the regroup spots, and the final destination. Then we hit the Malahat and cruised through Shawnigan Lake, Cobble Hill, Cowichan Bay, downtown Duncan, and along the beautiful road by Cowichan Lake. About 25 cars showed up, and honestly, it looked awesome seeing all of us cruising together. People were definitely staring.
Before we reached the last stop, we pulled over just before Youbou and drove through this tunnel of trees that felt kind of magical. The views alone made the whole drive worth it. Our final stop was the Youbou Bar & Grill for lunch—and we made it. A couple cars had small issues on the way, but most of us rolled in no problem. Every part of the drive was memorable, and I loved every minute.
On the way back, we went to Wheelies for their American Graffiti night. And leaving Youbou, we even saw elk just walking through the streets and yards—which I’ve legit never seen before. It was wild.
Huge thanks to Lee and Shannon for putting together such a great run. It was a blast from start to finish.
