 Dogwood

Dustup

on Film

Part One

Cache Creek, May 22-24, 2026.

The first annual Dogwood Dust Up was held on an old airstrip in Cache Creek.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I heard about the event through my friends Lee and Shannon, and it sounded like something worth checking out. I went for the cars and the atmosphere, but the people ended up being one of the best parts of the weekend. I spent the weekend with good friends, met some great people along the way, and made some good memories.

It was a weekend of dust, engines, sunshine, and good people. I brought a few film cameras and spent my time trying to keep up with everything happening on and off the track.

Flathead engines, makeshift builds, and people who looked like they were born with a wrench in their hand. The air was thick with dirt and exhaust, and everything felt a little rough around the edges in the best possible way.

These photos capture small moments from the weekend. Nothing staged, nothing slowed down. Just the dust settling between runs, conversations between friends, and those in-between seconds that can easily be missed.

Choosing which photos to share wasn't easy. Each photo tells a story and holds a small piece of that weekend. More than anything, the Dogwood Dust Up was about people coming together, having a good time, and making memories that stick with you long after the dust settles.

These are a few of the moments I brought home with me.

For this post, I've shared the colour images from the weekend. The black-and-white photos tell a different side of the story, and I'll be posting those soon.
